Veterinary Technician

We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Veterinary Technician/Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to our veterinarians, ensuring that our animal patients receive the highest quality care. This role requires excellent communication skills, a strong work ethic, and a genuine passion for animal welfare.

Responsibilities:
• Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and surgical procedures.
• Administer medications, vaccinations, and other treatments as directed by veterinarians.
• Perform diagnostic tests such as blood work, urinalysis, and radiographs.
• Monitor and care for animals before, during, and after surgery, including anesthesia monitoring.
• Collect and prepare laboratory samples for testing.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient medical records.
• Educate pet owners on preventive care, nutrition, and post-treatment care.
• Perform dental cleanings and assist with dental procedures.
• Handle and restrain animals safely and compassionately.
• Ensure the cleanliness and organization of examination rooms, surgical suites, and kennels.
• Assist with inventory management and ordering of medical supplies.
• Provide support and mentorship to junior staff and veterinary assistants.

Requirements:
• Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) or equivalent certification preferred.
• Previous experience working in a veterinary clinic or hospital.
• Strong technical skills, including proficiency in diagnostic testing and surgical assistance.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Compassionate and patient approach to animal care.
• Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Physical stamina and the ability to lift and restrain animals as needed.
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and respecting the privacy of clients and patients.
